On our way!

Hey friends! Thanks for checking in on our progress. We are Pat and Michelle, born and raised in Minnesota, and currently taking our 'GAP' year in our 50's. We have decided to leave normal life behind in search of something different... 

We recently launched full-time travel life in our Brinkley travel trailer with our dogs, Indie and Louie.

After selling our house in mid-June, and Michelle finishing up the school year, we spent the first four weeks of summer traveling around Minnesota seeing family and friends, saying our goodbyes, wrapping up loose ends after selling the house and all of our belongings, and getting used to our new home - a Brinkley Model Z AIR 310 Travel Trailer - in different settings...State Forest Campgrounds, RV Parks, Harvest Hosts, Boondocking, and even a night on our own driveway in Breezy Point, MN! :)

We hit the road out of Minnesota on July 15, 2025. Saying goodbye was a surreal mix of disbelief and excitement. The word - b i t t e r s w e e t - came up a lot as we said our goodbyes, wrapped up almost 30 years living and working in the Brainerd Lakes Area, and hugged our family and friends tight until Christmas / next summer. We remind ourselves daily: we choose this and it is what is best for our happiness and growth at this moment in time.

Since July 15th, we have travelled across the state of South Dakota (see blog post on our adventures here) and are now spending time in M o n t a n a , one of our favorite places on Earth...and also 'home' for both of our kids.

Our first 50 nights in the camper have been a whirlwind of excitement and learning on the fly. Stay tuned for details, funny stories and some pictures of our adventures.
